So we're not really expecting a response???!!!
yes, we are definitely expecting a response and thats why we are stating the timeline.
At minimum, we definitely need to higlight with details as to how USCIS is playing with us.
Nobody can predict whether we will get a response or not. But, we definitely need to satisfy ourselves that we fought till the last.
2 or 3 years back, nobody expected IV to achieve anything. Look what IV has achieved today. It only happened through relentless protests.
During July fiasco, everybody was resigned to getting their 485 files returned back. The force of IV protest made the reversal.
I am confident that with lots of protests, USCIS will churn out a few approvals in the last week of September. At least, guys who got RFE can expect something. I am not one of them, though, as my file has not been picked up at all. that is a different issue.

If everyone does their part.
We have a goal of 30K by the end of this month. This
is what we need to invest in the omnibus bill Lobbying efforts.

It has truly been an effort that's well worth it. "Thank You" wouldn't be enough for you folks. Let's keep the spirit going and make the authorities do something to the system to make sure that its more people friendly so that it benefits, at least, the future immigrants.
Thank you all again.
Thank you all again.

Do you know why all arguments against F1 to GC are moot? It's because US does NOT view it as misuse. They are talking about not letting the students go, and stapling GC's to certificates. Do you think there will be any result from fighting that sentiment?
This is another rant idea and it is wasting everyone's time. I request all to pls stop bumping this thread on that count

Thanks. Fortunately I have my I-485 approved more than a year ago and it was adjudicated and approved in one go.
The review of the cases progresses as per RD in pre-adjudication
Your profile (above) says that you are at I-485 stage, so I thought you are waiting for approval.

Are you guys anonymous? Why is the admin asking for your phone number? Didn't you fill in your actual name, phone number to reach you in case IV needs your help.
You have to be willing to help if you want to lead.
Do you actually even read what we are typing here before assuming stuff

Every race is an immigrant for this country(except native americans.)
Infact this country is built up by the immigrants.
Please shut your mouth get the heck out of here.
Good going Shiva. First post and you reply correctly to the opposite side. I do hope that you will continue to support IV at the local state chapter level (start a chapter if it is missing), attend the DC rally and support the cause.
Great going.

1. they have country limit for diversification. >> us(culprit) immigration is broken.
2. substitution labor >> desi employers(culprit) sold it.
3. my employer did not file for GC because layoffs couple of years back. >> general public are culprit. they caused our employer to get loss.
4.other employers filed GC for other people. >> other employers are culprit. they filed GC to retain their employers.
5.EB2 category : if they do not exist, I would have got spillover visas.
6.EB1 employers : employers are filing in EB1 category for the same skill set as mine
7.EB2 employers: employers are filing in EB2 for the same skill set as mine.
8.Dollar : Seriously. Dollar is a culprit. Last year Dollar value is less. So many foreigners are able to afford dollar and they filed for investor visa. Without that I would have got spillover visas
9.140 portability : many people are porting 140, PD from previous employer to new employer. They are able to retain old priority dates than me.
Any others??
How can I get GC with all these things.
Folks, this is for your information. not for the argument.
just kidding. :)
How about stopping the disscussions which divides the community.
I can understand the frustration of long wait for GC. The fight is for immigrant and non immigrant visas. Everyone(individuals like you and me), desi employers, desi MNCs, american companies wants to play by rules. The system is not fair. thats the reality.
Well, I thought OP had a good point. Do you support substitute LC?
Disclaimer: I'm not a beneficiary of a substituted labor certification.

I was talking about “Adult American" especially in so called "highly skilled field”. That’s what this forum is all about ,isn’t it?
See details at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Educational_attainment_in_the_United_States
Just in case if you are not able to open the page, I am enclosing the excerpts
“The highest occupational attainment was among those in the Professional and related fields followed by those Business, Management and financial related occupations. The professional/managerial fields were the only two occupational fields where college graduates with a Bachelor's degree or higher represented the majority. Among professional occupations, 99.1% of the population graduated from high school, 90.2% had some college education or an Associates degree and over two thirds, 68.2% had a Bachelor's degree or higher. Business and managerial occupations were second with 97.8% having graduated high school, 79.5% having some college or an associates degree and just over half, 53.4% having a Bachelor's degree or higher. While nearly all employment fields feature a population where over 80% had graduated high school with over a third having some college education or an Associates degree, the fields relating to agriculture, construction, manufacturing, and transportation did not. These, often described as blue collar, fields featured a labor force where less than a tenth of the population had a Bachelor's degree or higher, less than half had some college or an Associates, and less than 80% had graduated high school. Overall the least educated occupational field was agriculture, ranking dead last on all educational levels. Here only 55.4% had graduated high school, roughly one fifth (20.8%) had some college education or an Associates degree and only 6.8% had a Bachelor's degree or higher. While the largest occupational field, that consisting of professionals and relating occupations was also the largest field, the fields with lower educational attainment combined were larger than the professional and managerial fields combined. Overall 38.02% were employed in the professional and managerial fields while 61.89% were employed in the other white and blue collar fields were those with a Bachelor's degree or higher constituted less than a third of the work force.”[1]
By the way, I have never met Lou Dobbs.
